Hope this helps ;) I wrote an explanation on the right to explain why you should make the numerator equal instead as I saw you tried making the denominator the same in your posted question, because the question did not state there were equal number of apples and oranges nor did it leftover apples and oranges were equal, there is no need to make the denominator same in this case :)
