By looking at your net, triangle's base = 20 cm and height = 24 cm.
Square length = 20 cm

Area of triangle = ½ × 20 × 24 = 240
Total 4 triangle = 960 cm²

Area of square = 20×20 = 400 cm²

Total surface area = 960 + 400 = 1360cm²

It this the answer?

Why is the square 20cm? This is where I do not understand

Base of big triangle is 20cm. If we look at smaller triangle, base will be 10 cm and height = 24 in order to get 26 cm on hypotenuse.
26² = 24² + 10²

Hi, hope this helps. I saw the comments discussing about the reason of the side of base to be 20cm. I look into the question and confirm that the base and height in this question are variables. The question intends to get you try to draw one (any possible one) to scale and measure to calculate the surface area I believe.

Another obvious combination would be swapping the value of b and h in my solution, as it still satisfies the 24^2 + 10^2= 26^2, then the area of square base be 48x48 , area of triangle 0.5x48x10, total surface area 3264cm^2
