To compare fractions with different denominator , you have to find the common multiple to compare it , which in this case
5/8 and 1/3 ,
3x8 = 24 , 8x3 = 24
The common multiple is 24 so
5/8 will be changed to 15/24
1/3 will be changed to 8/24
So as you can see , 15/24 is greater than 8/24 , so the greater fraction is 5/8
