Try to understand this..
Speed different = 40-30 = 10km/h
10 km/h → 3/5=0.6h

From home to school, speed = 30km/h
Time = 30×0.6 = 1.8h but it will take 0.6h more due to slower.
Total time = 1.8+0.6 = 2.4h
Distance= speed × time
Distance = 30×2.4 = 72km

Similar from school to home,
Speed = 40km/h
Time = 40×0.6 = 2.4 but it will take 0.6 h faster
Total time = 2.4-0.6 = 1.8h
Distance = 40×1.8h = 72km
