Question A can be done by simply following the figures.
For Question B, the difficult part is recognising the sequence. This is actually a sequence called Triangular numbers, you can google to get a better understanding of the concept. Using the formula, you are able to get the answer of 7260.
For Question C, you can actually see a pattern that the number of grey squares are actually perfect squares. From there, it is simply forming an equation with N.
Find the grey squares to subtract from the total and you will get your white squares.

Hi Ashley, I have checked against the answer of 213/242. While I have made an error in the formula for Grey Square if n is an odd number. (It should be [(N+1)/2]^2 instead).
My resulting fraction of white squares remains to be 61/121.
While it is entirely possible I may have made a mistake, I have worked out the entire figure up to figure 120 1 by 1 in excel through addition and have also gotten the answer 61/121.

Ok, meaning the answer is 61/121 instead. Thanks for the help
