Sorry for the handwriting! We can deduce that the length of square Y must be 2 units. Since the length of square X is 3 times that of square Z, and since the lengths of X and Y is that of Z, Y’s length must be 2 units. Hence, using formulas for areas of squares, we can work out whether the statements are true or false. Hope this helps!
