It is incorrect to add the area together as the height of each tank in the end is different.

You would have to convert the height of B in terms of the height of A, that is, height of B = height of A *(3/2) based on the ratio of heights. Before you can divide the total volume against the sum of 1500 and 900. Hope it helps!
