Let the initial amount of money be $x.

Take note that 2/5 x = 4/7 (x-39).
Expand it out:

2/5 x = 4/7 x - 156/7

Get rid of the denominators by multiplying by their lowest common multiple, which is 35 (5 × 7).

14 x = 20 x - 780

6x = 780, x = 780 ÷ 6 = 130.

Answer is option 4 ($130).
