Let the number of years that have passed be x.
At the end of x years,
44 + x = 4 (5 + x)
44 + x = 20 + 4x
44 = 20 + 3x.
3x = 44 - 20 = 24
x = 24 ÷ 3 = 8
Sarah's uncle will be 44 + 8 = 52 years old.
At the end of x years,
