For number of math stick, first pattern:8
+7
2nd pattern:15

So the pattern will be:
(Diff btw 2 pattern)(n) + (diff between first patt and diff)

Therefore it is
(7)(n) + (8-7)= nth term
7n + 1 = nth term

*n=number
n=1 ( 1st pattern)
n=2 (2nd pattern)

Ans: for 100th pattern, n=100

Total needed=7 (100) +1
=701

Not that the above method can only be used when the difference is constant.

In this case, it is by +7

Always remember to find the pattern. Separate the first pattern from the rest.

D) Since the number of squares = figure number. Since the answer is Figure 63, number of squares also equals to 63. Let me know if you need me to further explain.
