You can solve this question using algebra. Recall how to convert percentages into fractions because that would make understanding both the algebra and model methods easier.

Below, I have drawn the model representation for this question. As you can see, one small unit is 10% of 800, which is 80. You can then find the amount won by taking 800 + (5 x 80).
