There are 8 cars and motorcycles in a carpark.
Cars have 4 wheels and motorcycles have 2 wheels.
There are 26 wheels altogether. How many cars are there in the car park?

Guess and check:
4 cars = 4×4 = 16 wheels
4 motorbikes = 4×2 =8 wheels
Total = 16+8 = 24 wheels X
5 cars = 5×4 = 20 wheels
3 motorbikes = 3×2 = 6 wheels
Total = 20+6 = 26 wheels ✔
5 cars.
