We can sketch the graph to help us understand better. “y=-3” is a horizontal line.

This means that the y-coordinate of C is already given, which is y=-3.

To find the x-coordinate of C, we substitute y=-3 into the equation of L found in (a).

This is one way to solve (c). Another way is to use the linear equation (y=mx+c) and substitute the values of “m”, “x” and “y” to find “c”, where m=-1 and “x” and “y” are the x-coordinate and y-coordinate of B.
