Yeap u are on the right track! Doubt the qn is actually worth 7m (most of the time about 4m).
Alternative method to solve quadratic equations:
Complete the square - great for solving inequalities
Simplify and factorise - as u did

Hope it helps :) The writings in pencil are to check and make sure (x+1) is not a factor (not =0 when subbed n(-1)) you’re on the right track, just finish the last step
