Original allowance = 100%,
Saving = 100%×10÷100 = 10%
When allowance increased 20%, total allowances = 120%
Saving = 120%×10÷100 = 12%

12%-10% = $8
2% = $8
1% = $4
Original saving
10% = 10×$4 = $40.
