This method is definitely easier to understand. I didn’t manage to see the breakdown of this shape at first glance hence used similar triangles
Third method: extend the entire diagram to make it a rectangle 13 cm by 11 cm before finding all the unshaded areas.
Similar triangles would not be the best idea for primary level students.
