The total value of the 2 numbers must be 12 x 2 = 24.

12 + 12
11 + 13
10 + 14
9 + 15 not possible as 9 is not two-digit

Largest is 14.

Sorry i don't know if the pic got cut off or not, but based on what i see i think the qn is asking what is the larger of the 2 numbers?

If it that case, average of 12 means total of the two numbers is 12*2=24

To have one of the number as the largest, the other has to be the smallest. + qn req of 2 digits. So smallest 2 digit no. is 10. Hence, largest is 24-10=14.
