Oh thank you for the help! So is the question for part (i) wrong? There is supposed to be just an n and not 2n?

No, MB is incorrect.

The 2n is really 2n.

There is a message which the question is trying to say when 2n is being placed there.

Sadly MB’s second part answer is also incorrect.

The terms inside the square brackets in the second part is basically double the original version, so the sum of the terms in that sequence will be exactly four times the given summation.
