Continuing from your expression,

...
= 6 + 10/12 + 6/12
= 6 + 16/12
= 6 + 12/12 + 4/12
= 6 + 1 + 4/12
= 7 + 4/12
= 7 + 1/3
= 7 ... 1/3 (I put ... for spacing because the text box here does not allow more than one spacing between characters)
