Remaining → 5 ℓ - ¼ ℓ = 4.75 ℓ

½ × 4.75 = 2.375 ℓ

2.735 ℓ ÷ ½ ℓ = 4.75

(a)
Ans: 4

(b)
½ × ¾ = ⅜ ℓ = 0.375 ℓ
2.375 ℓ + 0.375ℓ = 2.75 ℓ (Ans)

or

4.75 ℓ - 4×½ ℓ = 2.75 ℓ (Ans)

Ooops! Sorry, ..
19/8 + 3/8 = 22/8
= 2 3/4
My apology!

Thank you Saurabh for spotting the mistake.
Remaining juice after consuming 1/4 liters = 4+(3/4)

Half of it = 2+(3/8)

Of we pour to 1/2 liter cups then we can pour to 4 cups which comes from 2/(1/2)

So there are 4 friends and 2+3/8+3/8 = 2+6/8 juice is left.
