p+q = -1 + 5 = 4 (Ans)


(b)
[ (-1) - 2]² = (-3)² = 9 (Ans)


(c)
(-4)/2 = -2 (Ans)

part a should be straight forward

part b, you need to take note that since p is a negative value and q is a positive value, you will need the largest p and smallest q to get the smallest.

part c, you need to take note that it is a negative fraction since p is negative and q is positive. Therefore, you need the smallest p and smallest q.
