= (x - 8.5)² - 52.25
p = 8.5
q = 52.25
(ii)
(x - 8.5)² = 52.25 ≈ (±7.2284)²
x₁ ≈ 15.7284
x₂ ≈ 1.27158
(x - ¹⁷⁄₂)² + 20-(¹⁷⁄₂)²
= (x - 8.5)² - 52.25
