I did wrongly:
let x be length of one sq
let y be length of other square
4x+4y=44
16x^2+16y^2=44×44=1936
x^2+y^2=65
16x^2+16y^2=16×65=1040
why is it wrong?
x + y = 11
x = 11-y ----①
x² + y² = 65---②
Sub ① into ②
(11-y)² + y² = 65
121 -22y +y² + y² =65
2y² -22y + 56 =0
y² -11y + 28 = 0
(y-4) (y-7) =0
∴ y = 4 & 7
When y=4, x = 7
Perimeter of square = 16 & 28 cm
x² + y² = 65
Since wire cut into 4x and 4y
x² + y² = 65
(x+y)² = 121 = 65+2xy
xy = (121-65)÷2 = 28
x(11-x) = 28
x² - 11x + 28
(x-4)(x-7) = 0
x₁ = 4
x₂ = 7
4×4 = 16 cm (Ans)
4×7 = 28 cm (Ans)
