Answer key states 7/24kg. I get 5/24kg. Am I wrong?

The key word “ was used “ hint us shld be minus :D
wait but the answer shld be 8/24 . they asked how much sugar was used to bake the tarts , not how much sugar was left after baking the tarts . and 1/3 = 8/24

If 1/3 is the sugar used to bake tarts and I am supposed to find 1/3 of the sugar used to bake tart, why Do we minus?
