¼×¼ = ¹⁄₁₆

(1-⅖) × (1-¹⁄₁₆)
= ⅗ × ¹⁵⁄₁₆
= ⁹⁄₁₆ = ⁹⁰⁄₁₆₀

¹⁄₁₆ × 160 = 10 (Ans)

See 1 Answer

¼ × ¼ = 1/16 (red balloons that flew away as a fraction of total balloons)
1 - 1/16 = 15/16 (remaining balloons)
1 - 2/5 = 3/5 (fraction of the remaining balloons that were left and not given away)
15/16 × 3/5 = 9/16 (fraction of total balloons that were left)
9/16 of total balloons = 90 balloons
1/16 of total balloons = 90 ÷ 9 = 10
