Area of triangle= 1/2 x base x height

Shaded triangle

= 1/2 x 18 x (5+4) - 1/2 x 18 x 4
= 45 cm^2

1. Big triangle - Small triangle
Big Triangle area
= ½ × 18 × 9
= 81

Small triangle
=½ × 18 × 4
= 36

Shaded area
= 81 - 36
= 45cm²
