Solve for t in terms of w. This is what I have solved so far but there is still t on the left side. Please help thanks.
5w² = t² - 2wt - 3w²
t² - 2wt - 3w² - 5w² = 0
t² - 2wt - 8w² = 0
Factorise this.
(t + 2w)(t - 4w) = 0
t + 2w = 0 or t - 4w = 0
t = -2w (rejected as this would make the argument in the logarithms a negative value. The logarithm would then be undefined)
or t = 4w
In addition, the base of the logarithm cannot be 1.
