How to do part b? Please help, thanks. I know it is differenciate for the first step,but this equation I dunno when to put d/dx and when to put dy/dx. I'm super confused.

d/dx is an operator , which means to differentiate an algebraic expression or term with respect to x.

dy/dx means you are differentiating y with respect to x.

dy/dx is just a shorter way to write d/dx (y)
