1,4,7,10... every term increased by '3'..Then we use 3n +a...... To find a, take n=3, the third term is 3(3) + a = 7,,,,, so a = -2.

3(1) - 2 = 1
S2:
3(2) -2 = 4
S3:
3(3) - 2 = 7
S4:
3(4) - 2 = 10
S5:
