When you divide both sides by №, you should get 2 = e²·⁵ᵏ.

You forgot to cancel out the № on the left.
And the 2 disappeared.

I think LockB could have "subtracted" N0 instead of "dividing" it.

Some of my weaker students are unsure of whether to "subtract" or to "divide" expressions and one of them made one such error yesterday.

This suggests they're still not used to algebraic notation (which goes all the way back to P6/Sec 1)


№ being next to e²·⁵ᵏ means the expression is a product of both terms.

Just like how 2x means 2 × x and an² means a× n × n


Such errors are very basic. Especially when there are no + or - signs between those terms.


Some other similar errors :

Thinking that a³ = 3a , and 2x² = (2x)²
