so basically you shift the smaller shaded semicircle above the line to the white region in the big semicircle since they have the same area (same diameter of 14cm) from there you calculate the area of the whole big semicircle. if you realise the length of the rectangle is the diameter of 2 small semicircles (14cm+14cm) so u add them together to get 28cm. and also the breadth of the rectangle is the radius of a small semicircle (7cm) the radius of the big semicircle (14cm) so you add to get 21
