(sinθ + cosθ) / (sinθ - cosθ) = 5/4
Cross multiply,
4(sinθ + cosθ) = 5(sinθ - cosθ)
4sinθ + 4cosθ = 5sinθ - 5cosθ
4cosθ + 5cosθ = 5sinθ - 4sinθ
9cosθ = sinθ
sinθ/cosθ = 9
tanθ = 9
Cross multiply,
4(sinθ + cosθ) = 5(sinθ - cosθ)
4sinθ + 4cosθ = 5sinθ - 5cosθ
4cosθ + 5cosθ = 5sinθ - 4sinθ
9cosθ = sinθ
sinθ/cosθ = 9
tanθ = 9
So,
(tan²θ + 1)/(tan²θ - 1)
= (9² + 1)/(9² - 1)
= 82/80
= 41/40 or 1 1/40
(tan²θ + 1)/(tan²θ - 1)
= (9² + 1)/(9² - 1)
= 82/80
= 41/40 or 1 1/40
