assumed all 20 tickets r $8
($180-20×$8)÷($12-$8) = 5 → # of $12
assumed all 20 tickets r $12
(20×$12-$180)÷($12-$8) = 15 → # of $8

15×$8 + 5×$12 = 180 ✓
