288÷2 = 144 = 12²
12 cm → radius of circle
【rect area = square area】
(a)
¼ circle =¼×3.14×12² = 113.04
shaded rect %
(288-113.04)÷288×100%
= 60.75% (Ans)
(b) shaded area
= ¼ rect【yellow】 + ½ circle
= ¼×288 + ½×3.14×12²
= 298.08cm² (Ans)
