Divide by 3 → ⅓ of cake cost
Divide by 4 → ¼ of cake cost
⅓ = 4/12
¼ = 3/12
⅓ of cake cost - ¼ of cake cost
= 4/12 of cake cost - 3/12 of cake cost
= 1/12 of cake cost = $2.40
Cake cost = $2.40 × 12 = $28.80
