Easy.
12 fewer rows means that the pots in those 12 rows were shifted. They were used to add to some of the existing rows to become 16 pots per row.
12 × 13 = 156
So 156 pots were rearranged.
Number of pots added to each of those rows = 16 - 13 = 3
Number of rows which had pots added = 156 ÷ 3 = 52
Number of potted plants = 52 × 16 = 832
Or
Number of potted plants = 13 × (12 + 52) = 13 × 64 = 832
