For the first question, do take a look at the figure for clues. The ants must be benefitting from not eating the tiny insects! So my question for you is, what do the tiny insects provide to the ants that they like, such that they rather not eat the tiny insects? :)
For the second question, the clue is in the question: the tiny insects do not have wings and cannot move far. This must make it very dangerous for these tiny insects to live on the stem. So how do you think the ants help these insects?
