Since there are 2 unknowns p and q, it indicates that you need to solve simultaneous equations. To perform that, you will need the factor given to help you, as when an equation is divided by its factor, it gives a remainder of zero. Hence, you will be required to use the factor to generate 2 equations that can be solved simultaneously.
