In 1 there are 9 ninths (1 = 1/1 = 9/9 = 9 × 1/9)
In ⅔, there are 6 ninths (⅔ = ⅔ × 3/3 = 6/9)
Total there are 15 ninths (9 + 6 = 15)
Alternatively,
1⅔ = 5/3 = 5/3 × 3/3 = 15/9 = 15 × 1/9
