Rectangle:
Length = l = 8 cm
Breadth = b = 4cm

Semi-circle 1:
Radius = r1 = 4cm

Semi-circle 2:
radius = r2 = 2cm

Area of rectangle is l * b = 8*4 = 32

Area of semi-circle 1 = (Pi * r1*r1)/2 = (Pi*4*4)/2
= 8Pi

Area of semi-circle 2 = (Pi*r2*r2)/2 = (Pi*2*2)/2
=2Pi

Area of the given figure = Area of Semi-circle 1 +
Area of Semi-circle 2 +
Area of Rectangle
= 8 Pi + 2 Pi + 32
=(10 Pi + 32) cm2

Option (4) is the answer

Kamala, may i ask is formula for pi will always be (pi*r*r)/2 ?

Area of a circle is PI * r * r
Since, the given figure is a semi-circle, We are using the area formula as,
(PI * r * r ) * 1/2 which equals half the area of a circle.
