Distance between home and beach = x
cycling time T1 = 20 min = 20/60 hr
walking time T2 = 1 hr 40 min = 100/60 hr
diff between cycling and walking speed
= 12 km/hr
x*60/20 - x*60/100 = 12
3x - 6x/10 = 12
24x/10 = 12
24x = 120
x = 120/24 = 10/2 = 5
Distance between home and beach = 5 km.
