So, let's take it that the kettle requires 8 units of water to be completely filled.
A kettle with 7 units of water has a mass of 1800 g.
A kettle with 2 units of water has a mass of 835 g.
The difference between the two scenarios will be the 5 units of water at 1800 - 835 = 965 g water.
5 units = 965 g
1 unit = 193 g
2 units = 386 g
Mass of the empty kettle
= 835 - 386
= 449 g
