The rectangle and triangle share the same base and height, so the area of the triangle is exactly half of the rectangle.
R must therefore be 14 - 7 - 3 = 4 units.
The ratio Q : R must have been 7 : 4.

The ratio Q : R must have been 7 : 4.
Area Q = area P + area R
7 = 3 + 4
Ratio Q : R = 7 : 4
7 = 3 + 4
