Both shaded regions are the same overlapping region.
Ratio of unshaded to shaded of triangle is 2 : 3. Ratio of shaded to unshaded of rectangle is 4 : 3. Because the shaded areas are actually equal, the “3” for the shaded portion of the triangle and the “4” for the shaded portion of the rectangle must be made the same. We make this number 12.
Unshaded : shaded for triangle is 8 : 12.
