hi thanks for the help! sorry but could i clarify how you got from the 3rd to the 4th line? i know its one of the formulas from the mf26, but i can't identify the P and Q terms

Hi!
For this ull just hv to equate
(P+Q)/2 = (k+1)x ---(1)
(P-Q)/2 = x ---(2)

From (2):
Q= P-2x ---(3)

Subst (3) into (1):
(P+P-2x)/2 = (k+1)x
P= (k+2)x

Q will therefore be kx
