(a). $156 - $12 = $144
Amount of money spent on spoons
= $144/2
= $72

(b). Amount of money spent on forks
= $156 - $72
= $84
Or
$72 + $12 = $84

$72/3 = $24
$84/4 = $21
Difference in cost between per
unit
= $24 - $21 = $3
$3/$0.50 = 6
3u + 4u
= 7u
Total number of forks and spoons bought
= 6 x 7
= 42
