Equal Fraction Concept. Equalise numerators of both fractions.

1/5 = 2/10
May (total) = 10u
Karen (total) = 7u

Since each of them gave away same number of sweets, difference (at first) = difference (in the end). Apply Unchanged Difference Concept.
10u - 7u = 114
3u = 114
1u = 114/3 = 38

May (left) = 10u - 128
= (10 x 38) - 128
= 380 - 128
= 252 sweets (Ans)
