The answer should be 50 since it's asking for the number of 300g bags.

25 need to ×2

See 1 Answer

Concept tested : grouping.
Since there are twice as many 300g bags as 500g bags, their ratio is 2 : 1
Put every two 300g bags and one 500g bag into 1 group.
For each group, the combined mass is :
300g × 2 = 600g
500g + 600g = 1100g
Then, since 1kg = 1000g,
27.5kg = 27.5 × 1000g = 27500g
Number of such groups that will make up 27.5kg = 27500g ÷ 1100g = 25
Number of 300g bags
= 2 bags per group × 25 groups
= 50
