Rewrite x² - y² as (x + y)(x - y)
So (x + y)(x - y) = -10
x + y = -10 ÷ (x - y)
x + y = -10 ÷ 2
x + y = -5
Then, (x + y)² = (-5)² = 25
So (x + y)(x - y) = -10
x + y = -10 ÷ (x - y)
x + y = -10 ÷ 2
x + y = -5
Then, (x + y)² = (-5)² = 25
