22 - 14 = 8
There is a smaller square, 8 cm by 8 cm

(your dotted line has already caused it to appear)

The height of the triangle = length of the small square = 8 cm

base of triangle = length of big square
= 22 cm

Area of triangle = ½ × base × height
= ½ × 22 cm × 8 cm
= 11 cm × 8 cm
= 88 cm²
